Strategic Planning:

What will your business look like in the next five to ten years? Most business owners have no real Vision or Plan for their company’s future. With no Vision and Long-Term Planning process, many businesses find themselves floundering to provide their people with Direction or Motivation.

Defining where your company currently stands in size, revenue and profitability is not terribly difficult, or is it? It takes special talent and skill to foresee and plan the future. As the business

owner, do you have these abilities?

Most business owners have the ability to plan the near future, but struggle with the long-term plan beyond 3 to 6 months.

Every business owner will tell you they need to plan both short and long-term and the plan must be strategic. So, why do so many Businesses neglect Strategic Planning?

Don’t wait! Talk to an Estrada Strategies Advisor about your next Strategic Planing Event.

The Process & Event

NO TWO BUSINESSES ARE THE SAME. Your Estrada Strategies’ Coach and advisor will CUSTOM DESIGN YOUR STRATEGIC PLAN EVENT to fit your needs and situation.

YOUR EVENT FACILATOR will be CAREFULLY GUIDED through a COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS that boils down to FOUR FUNDEMENTAL PHASES:

  • CREATE YOUR COMPANY CULTURE/PURPOSE
  • COMPREHENSIVE BUSINESS EVALUATION (SWOT Analysis)
  • SYSTEMATIC GOAL SETTING
  • ESTABLISH OPERATIONAL AND FUNCTIONAL TACTICS
DEFINE THE COMPANY CULTURE/PURPOSE
Every business needs a PURPOSE to inspire and motivate people—we refer to that as the business culture. The culture is what fuels all goals and activities. “Culture” encompasses the company’s:

  • Vision – The ultimate, nearly unachievable dream of how your company will impact it’s customers and the markets it serves.
  • Values—The internal and external promises about how you will treat people in business.
  • Mission—The internally focused description of the company and what it does that directs and guides all the employees actions and decisions.

Estrada’s strategic planning process will take you through the steps of building a passion filled inspirationsal leadership component for your business with REAL PURPOSE.

COMPREHENSIVE BUSINESS EVALUATION
Another aspect of strategic planning is making an honest assessment of your organization’s strengths and weaknesses internally and the opportunities and threats that exist in the marketplace where you compete. This SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) is so vital to the strategic planning process that we devote as much as a half day to this process. The SWOTanalysis will reveal:

  • Gaps in your operation
  • Areas to leverage current success
  • New strategies to influence growth
  • Your competitive advantage

When done correctly (and Estrada Strategies’ facilitators are trained experts in this process), a SWOT Analysis often prompts a company to explore new paths—possibly new product lines, new branding,

different markets, or even new internal processes.

SYSTEMATIC GOAL SETTING
After reviewing the new product, marketing, and process paths suggested by the SWOT Analysis, Estrada’s Strategies’ strategic planning coaches will help you identify goals and objectives—the things you want to achieve as move down those paths. The “goals” and “objectives” are often used to:

  • Create focus and priorities
  • Define and organize needed resources
  • Measure and benchmark performance
  • Provide added motivation for growth

During the Goal Setting phase your team will learn the key differences between goals and tactics. All goals are strategically aligned with your financial KPIs (key performance indicators) for easy monitoring

of performance.

OPERATIONAL AND FUNCTIONAL TACTICS
You will be led through the tactical phase to put strategic tactics in place (such as training, human resources, investment, marketing, and technology) to achieve the goals and objectives. Every functional area of the business will be covered to insure a complete and effective plan is outlined:

  • Develop the HOW TO for every goal
  • Assign and delegate all tasks and responsibility
  • Define critical benchmarks to insure success
  • Create TEAM accountability for success

With CLEAR TACTICS in place, you and your team will have the roadmap needed to stay on track and reach its goals-The Final Destination!

Strategic Planing is a living and dynamic process. Strategic Planning should be done annually. Ongoing Business Coaching and Training will ensure you stay on-track and focused. With outside influences, situations inevitably change (e.g.,

the external threats and opportunities). However, long-term planning and coaching breads proactive businesses. Companies that anticipate rather than react to new situations can succesfully adjust their plans and objectives accordingly.
